Workforce and the deadline

Why full-time equivalent staff are recorded.

Full-time equivalent staff are full-time people plus part-time hours divided by the length of a full-time week. The usual full-time week is 37.5 hours, in half-hour steps.

The figure is cut after one decimal place, not rounded. Under 10 is shown as a micro-firm. The product uses the number you enter. It does not decide the legal deadline for you. Check GOV.UK. You can save a new workforce version later in Settings.
